Why Raila Odinga's Family is Being Forced to Give Away Hundreds of Cows Gifted By Mourners

Hundreds of people have been visiting Raila Odinga's homes at Opoda and Kango Ka Jaramogi to pay their respects, and the family has been truly touched by the outpouring of support.

They've received a remarkable number of livestock gifts, particularly cows, which speaks volumes about the love and unity people have for the Odinga family.

However, as wonderful as this generosity is, managing all these gifts has turned out to be quite a challenge for the family.

With so many cows to care for, it can be tough to keep up during this time of mourning.

The costs of feeding and providing veterinary care, along with the logistics of general upkeep, have all become quite demanding.

On top of that, there are cultural norms that dictate how these gifts should be managed, meaning some may need to be shared or given away according to tradition.

While the intentions behind these gestures are heartfelt, they've also created a bit of a heavy lift for the Odinga family.

What began as an expression of love and togetherness has turned into a practical situation that’s tricky to manage.

This really shows that public sympathy, even when it's meant to bring comfort, can sometimes lead to unforeseen challenges for those on the receiving end.
