According to Methu, residents from Kanjuiri Ridge Ward delivered a fresh contribution totaling Sh18,920, all in ten-shilling coins. He described the gesture as a reflection of the goodwill and support that ordinary wananchi have shown toward the candidate and the broader campaign.
The fundraising drive has continued to gain momentum online, attracting widespread reactions from Kenyans who have praised the creativity and determination displayed by residents. Many supporters have embraced the slogan “10 Bob versus 1 Billion,” which has emerged as a rallying call emphasizing grassroots empowerment and collective action.
Methu also revealed that contributions sent through the campaign's mobile money platform had continued to increase, reflecting growing participation from supporters both within and outside the constituency.
The initiative comes as political activity intensifies ahead of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election scheduled for July 16, 2026. Candidates and their supporters have stepped up campaigns in a bid to secure voter backing.
Douglas Kamau Waweru-Ngotho, a former MCA, secured the party ticket after winning the nomination exercise, positioning him as one of the key contenders in the upcoming contest.
