The race to succeed the former prime minister the late Raila Odinga as the next possible Luo Nyanza Kingpin has been narrowed down to five key politicians.
From the region including one female politician and four male politicians in which one of them might be the next Kingpin after the death of Raila Odinga.
The next Kingpin is expected to give the region a political direction to take especially a head of the 2027 general elections and to unite the region the way Raila Odinga had United them for over three decades.
Among the key possible Raila Odinga successors are: Treasury and National Planning cabinet secretary John Mbadi who was also the ODM chairman prior to his appointment to the executive.
Energy cabinet secretary Opiyo Wandayi who was also the minority leader in the national assembly and Ugunja member of Parliament.
Others include: Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga who is also the chairperson of the ODM party after taking over .
From John Mbadi, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Hon Babu Owino and also Siaya senator Oburu Odinga who is also the acting ODM party Party Leader.
One of them is expected to be the next Luo region Kingpin to take over from the late Raila Odinga and it's just a matter of time to find out who will fit Raila's shoes.
