“When You See Osotsi, You Have Seen ODM” Senator Warns Ruto Against Listening to MP Jalang’o

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has openly warned President William Ruto not to trust or engage with certain leaders claiming to represent the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Speaking boldly during a public event attended by the President, Osotsi singled out Lang’ata MP Phelix ‘Jalang’o’ Odiwuor and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo, describing them as “fake” representatives who no longer belong to ODM.

The outspoken Senator declared that ODM has its own official structures for communication and that anyone outside those structures has no authority to speak for the party.

“Like the Honourable Elisha and the Honourable Jalang’o, those are people we chased out of the party,” Osotsi stated firmly, drawing cheers from his supporters.

He went on to remind the President that the two MPs had been expelled from ODM and therefore could not engage in any talks or make decisions on behalf of the party.

“When you see Osotsi, you have seen ODM,” he added, emphasizing his role within the party’s top leadership.

The Senator explained that he is part of ODM’s Central Committee, which is responsible for making major party decisions.

“We are the ones who sit in that committee. We are the ones who plan things,” he said, underlining his position as an official voice of the movement.

Osotsi’s message to President Ruto was clear — any engagement with ODM must go through the party’s recognized channels, not through individual MPs who have been expelled.

He urged the President to “address us through our structures,” insisting that the party’s official leadership is the only legitimate authority.

The remarks have sparked fresh political tension between ODM loyalists and leaders who have chosen to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.

Jalang’o and Elisha Odhiambo have previously defended their cooperation with President Ruto, arguing that their actions are meant to bring development to their constituencies.

However, Osotsi’s statement signals that ODM is tightening its grip on internal discipline and warning defectors that their actions will not be tolerated.

His fiery declaration has once again highlighted the growing divisions between ODM’s loyal wing and members perceived to have shifted allegiance to the ruling side.
