Tension High Within Kindiki’s Camp as the Following Details Emerge on Ruto’s Secret Bold Move

Reports from within the Kenya Kwanza coalition have revealed growing unease in Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s camp .

Amid speculation that President William Ruto may be considering dropping him as his running mate in the 2027 General Election.

Sources close to State House say Ruto’s allies are quietly pushing for a “political realignment” that could see the Deputy President replaced by a new face  possibly to strengthen his coalition’s appeal in key vote-rich regions ahead of the next polls.

The discussions are said to have intensified following a series of strategic meetings held over the past few weeks, where concerns were raised about Kindiki’s low political visibility and limited influence beyond Mt. Kenya East.

Analysts believe Ruto’s camp may be seeking a more politically aggressive deputy who can help consolidate the Central Kenya vote amid growing internal divisions.

Meanwhile, several ODM-linked leaders are reportedly positioning themselves to challenge Ruto’s dominance in the region, sensing potential cracks in the Kenya Kwanza alliance.

Political figures such as former governors and sitting MPs have begun mobilising grassroots networks, hoping to capitalise on any fallout between the President and his deputy.

Kindiki, who has largely maintained silence on the reports, is said to be consulting his close allies in Tharaka Nithi and beyond.

A senior UDA legislator described the mood in Kindiki’s camp as “anxious but cautious,” noting that the DP has been advised to avoid public confrontation while working to solidify his political base.

If confirmed, the move could trigger a fresh round of realignments within the ruling coalition, with the Mt. Kenya vote  once solidly behind Ruto emerging as the ultimate battleground in 2027.
