Late-Night Raid in Naivasha Uncovers Hidden Drug Operation Worth Millions

A tense evening in Naivasha ended with a major breakthrough after a multi-agency team intercepted a large stash of bhang valued at over KSh 2 million.

The operation, carried out by NACADA officers working closely with the National Police Service, has left many residents talking.

According to a statement from NACADA, the officers raided a suspected drug den after receiving intelligence about ongoing trafficking activities.

Inside, they found bhang neatly packed in rolls, sacks, stones and other forms clearly prepared for widespread distribution.

Two suspects were arrested at the scene after what officials described as an “intensive search operation.”

Officers believe the packaging style shows the drugs were meant for a large network, not small-scale selling.

NACADA CEO Anthony Omerikwa used the moment to send out a strong warning, especially to traffickers targeting learners during the school holiday season.

He reminded them that the agency is closely watching and will not hesitate to act.

“To those who use holidays to push harmful substances to our children, your days are numbered,” he said.

“We will not allow anyone to endanger the future of our young people.”

The raid is part of a nationwide Rapid Results Initiative, launched under orders from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

The initiative has intensified anti-narcotics operations across the country, leading to more arrests and bigger drug seizures.

NACADA noted that the success in Naivasha came from stronger collaboration and timely intelligence-sharing among security teams.

The two suspects arrested are now in custody, and the case has been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Unit for deeper investigations.

For many in Naivasha, the operation brings hope that authorities are finally tightening their grip on drug networks that have troubled the region for years.
